Adopt & Shop Playtime is a great way to provide your dog with exercise, mental stimulation and socialization, all while you’re hard at work bringing home the bacon! Sending your dog to daycare is a great way to ease separation anxiety and give yourself a well-deserved break. Instead of coming home to an amped-up dog, in desperate need of a long walk, you can bring home a calm dog, all ready to cuddle up and relax with you.
Here are some quick answers to frequently asked questions about Adopt & Shop Playtime:
What are Dog Daycare hours?
Dog Daycare is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where are you located?
We are located on the corner of Sepulveda and Culver Boulevards, right near the 405 freeway.
What do I have to do before bringing my dog to daycare?
New dogs must be assessed using our “10 Points of Play” compatibility profile. The assessment is free, but it requires an appointment to drop off for the day.
What are the “10 Points of Play?”
“10 Points of Play” includes introductions to the room, staff and other dogs, compatibility observations, reactivity, and toy-aggression testing.
Who performs the assessment?
The daycare staff will perform the assessment and our compatibility ambassador, Dodger, is always available to help assist staff with the safety assessments.
Do you have any size or breed restrictions?
We accept all shapes, sizes and breeds.
Do you have a separate area for large and small dogs?
Usually the dogs are separated by size, but temperament will ultimately decide (some large dogs get along better with small dogs, etc.). Safety is our number one priority for your animals and our staff. Daycare attendants take extra time when assessing temperament, body language and behavior.
What will my dog be doing all day at daycare?
Each day is structured with interactive games, naps, snacks, quiet time and play with toys. The dogs receive constant supervision.
What types of vaccinations/certificates does my dog need?
All dogs must show proof of vaccinations for Rabies, DHLPP (distemper/Parvo) and Bordatella and all dogs over 4 months of age must be spayed or neutered.
What about special needs and special cases?
Accommodations can be made for dogs with disabilities, special needs, medications and special meals.
Do you have a webcam so I can check in on my dog during the day?
Not yet but each dog goes home with a report card so mom & dad can see what they did, liked or disliked.
